Cookies
Like many other websites, we also use so-called “cookies.” Cookies are small text files that are transferred from a website server to your hard drive. This allows us to automatically collect certain data, such as your IP address, the browser you are using, your operating system, and information about your computer and your internet connection.
Cookies cannot be used to launch programs or transmit viruses to a computer. The information contained in cookies allows us to make navigation easier for you and ensure that our web pages display correctly.
Under no circumstances will the data we collect be disclosed to third parties or linked to personal data without your consent.
Of course, you can generally view our website without cookies. Web browsers are typically set to accept cookies. You can disable cookies at any time through your browser settings. Please refer to your browser’s help section to learn how to change these settings. Please note that some features of our website may not work properly if you have disabled cookies.
SSL encryption
To protect the security of your data during transmission, we use state-of-the-art encryption methods (e.g., SSL) via HTTPS.
Newsletter
When you sign up for our newsletter, the information you provide will be used exclusively for this purpose. Subscribers may also be notified via email of matters relevant to the service or registration (such as changes to the newsletter content or technical issues).
To ensure successful registration, we require a valid email address. To verify that the registration is actually being performed by the owner of the email address, we use the “double opt-in” process. As part of this process, we log the newsletter subscription request, the sending of a confirmation email, and the receipt of the response requested therein. No other data is collected. The data is used exclusively for sending the newsletter and is not shared with third parties.
You may revoke your consent to the storage of your personal data and its use for sending the newsletter at any time. Each newsletter contains a link for this purpose. You may also unsubscribe directly on this website at any time or notify us of your request using the contact information provided at the end of this privacy policy.
Contact Form
If you contact us via email or the contact form, the information you provide will be stored for the purpose of processing your inquiry and for any follow-up questions.
Deletion or blocking of data
We adhere to the principles of data avoidance and data minimization. We therefore store your personal data only for as long as is necessary to achieve the purposes stated here or as required by the various retention periods established by law. Once the respective purpose no longer applies or these retention periods have expired, the relevant data is routinely blocked or deleted in accordance with legal requirements.
Use of Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (hereinafter: Google). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies,” which are text files stored on your computer that enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie regarding your use of this website is generally transmitted to and stored on a Google server in the United States. However, due to the activation of IP anonymization on this website, your IP address will be truncated by Google within member states of the European Union or in other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the United States and truncated there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity, and to provide other services related to website and internet usage to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.
You can prevent cookies from being stored by adjusting your browser settings accordingly; however, please note that in this case you may not be able to use all features of this website to their full extent. You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) by Google, as well as the processing of this data by Google, by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: Browser add-on to disable Google Analytics.
In addition to or as an alternative to the browser add-on, you can prevent Google Analytics from tracking your activity on our website by clicking this link. This will install an opt-out cookie on your device. This will prevent Google Analytics from collecting data for this website and this browser in the future, as long as the cookie remains installed in your browser.
Use of script libraries (Google Web Fonts)
To ensure that our content is displayed correctly and visually appealing across all browsers, we use script libraries and font libraries on this website, such as Google Web Fonts (https://www.google.com/webfonts/). Google Web Fonts are stored in your browser’s cache to prevent them from having to be reloaded multiple times. If your browser does not support Google Web Fonts or blocks access to them, content will be displayed in a standard font.
Calling script libraries or font libraries automatically establishes a connection to the library operator. While it is theoretically possible—though it is currently unclear whether, and if so, for what purposes—that operators of such libraries collect data.
You can find the privacy policy of the library operator, Google, here: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/
Use of Google Maps
This website uses the Google Maps API to display geographic information visually. When you use Google Maps, Google collects, processes, and uses data regarding visitors’ use of the map features. For more information about Google’s data processing practices, please refer to Google’s Privacy Policy. You can also adjust your privacy settings in the Privacy Center.
You can find detailed instructions on managing your personal data in connection with Google products here.
Embedded YouTube videos
We embed YouTube videos on some of our web pages. The operator of the corresponding plugins is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. When you visit a page with the YouTube plugin, a connection to YouTube’s servers is established. In doing so, YouTube is informed which pages you visit. If you are logged into your YouTube account, YouTube can associate your browsing activity with you personally. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account beforehand.
When a YouTube video is played, the provider uses cookies to collect information about user behavior.
If you have disabled cookies for the Google Ads program, you won’t encounter such cookies even when watching YouTube videos. However, YouTube also stores non-personal usage information in other cookies. If you wish to prevent this, you must block cookies in your browser.
For more information about data protection on YouTube, please refer to the provider’s privacy policy at: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/
